How to make the crystal egg .

Step 1 Materials                                                                                                                   

 

 

Essential fly crystal eggs in various colours
kamasan B160 size 10
superglue.

Step 2.

First thread the egg on to the hook and around the bend.

Step 3.

Fix the hook in the vice.

Step 4.

Apply superglue to the hook.

Step 5.

Slide the egg up to the eye and the fly is finished , hope you enjoy  Morgan.
                     

14th December 2013

Morgan had a session at Papermill.  His first fish was a brown trout of around 7 1/2lb.

the fish was taken on a cats whisker variant, two more rainbows followed.

The last fish a rainbow of 5lb 13oz to finish off the day before the bad weather set in .

The flies used today were these, a stalking bug and a cats whisker variant .

6th December

The first of the winters Greyling and indeed my first ever , from a beat on the river Taff  with my good friend and fly tier Dai jones .

The fish were not huge but were there in numbers and two larger fish fell to Dai at around a pound and a half a piece.

Welcome to my blog I have been fishing for over thirty years , including sea and coarse fishing . My time is now spent within the realm of fly fishing and all its tributaries and fly tying with friends and my young son .
